Platinum Jubilee – Village Events

Coordinated by the Parish Council, a group of village residents are working hard to bring you a series of great events to span the Jubilee Weekend – Thursday June 2nd to Sunday June 5th.

Thursday June 2nd

In the Church

Come and see a beautiful selection of flower displays celebrating our Queens jubilee. “A Celebration in Flowers” will be set up in our church which will be open throughout the weekend (10am – 5pm) – be prepared to be wowed!   Browse the display of historical memorabilia while you are there and enjoy some refreshments (10am-12 and 2-4pm).

Later, a Commemorative Beacon will be lit on the shoreline.

Access to the site is via the lane at Channel View Farm (junction of Middle Lane and Back Lane) from 9pm and the timetable is then: 

9.35  Diu regnare (Pipe piece by Bon Accord)

9.40  Majesty (Bugle, David Harris)                 

9.45  Beacon lit                                       

Please bring your own refreshments as required.

Friday June 3rd

In the Church.  Flower displays, historical memorabilia and refreshments (10am-12 and 2-4pm).

Later, “An Audience With The Queen“.  A joyous event at the Village Hall from 7.30pm and featuring entertainment, music, dancing and a buffet!

Saturday June 4th

In the Church.  Flower displays, historical memorabilia and refreshments (10am-12).

Later, a “Royal Garden Party” will take place between 3pm and 5.30pm in a decorated marquee in the church grounds.  Forty eight guests will be welcomed to the event and staff will be suitably attired and music appropriate to the occasion will be played!
This event has now SOLD OUT!

Sunday June 5th

All villagers are invited to be in the Village Photo which will be taken at 2.30pm in the Village Hall car park.

Then there will be an “Royal Ascot Picnic” with family games at the Old Manor and then a picnic in the church grounds.  Hot & cold drinks will be provided but please bring your own picnic, alcoholic drink, rugs and seating (as required).  There will be a Treasure Hunt for the young people and the Jubilee Mugs will be distributed.

At 6.30pm you are welcome to join a Service of Thanksgiving in our wonderful church.

To close the weekend, the service will be followed by a Drinks Reception with canapes – also in the church.

In addition to the specific events above, the village will be adorned with flagpoles, a scarecrow trail is being developed and maps will be available shortly.

Commemorative Jubilee Mugs

These commemorative mugs are being funded by the parish council so that all under 18 young people living in Kingston Seymour and Kingston Bridge can have one for free and as a lasting token of the event..
If you would like a mug for your youngster, please email [email protected] to confirm how many you need.  Please also confirm whether you will be at the picnic on the afternoon of Sunday 5th when they will be handed out.  (If you cannot, delivery will be arranged separately).
We know that there are others in the village who would like to buy a mug/s, and the cost will be £7 each. 
Please email [email protected] to reserve one.  We will to confirm orders once we have confirmed numbers for the youngsters in the village).
