Starting on Monday 25th April – for a period of about 8 weeks ubtil the end of June – there will be extra tanker lorry movements into and out of the water treatment works whilst work on the tanks is underway.
It is planned that there will be no more than six round trips per day (including the usual ones) and, because this is a significant increase on the normal, Wessex Water plan to use a one way system to avoid lorries coming “face to face” on the narrow confines of Back Lane.
For this period, a one way system will be in operation where lorries going TO the works will use Middle Lane and join Back Lane at its far end (by Channel View Farm) to access the works. Lorries FROM the works will use the normal route down Back Lane to the Triangle.
Movements will only be on Mondays to Fridays and, as now, there will be no lorries through the village between 08.00 and 08.45 or between 15.00 and 15,45
