Coronation Weekend
The country will be celebrating His Majesty King Charles III Coronation over the weekend of 6th to 8th May 2023. There are events planned across the country and this includes Kingston Seymour. The plan for our village celebrations overall is as follows. It has been designed to fit around the national Coronation Weekend plan which are on Saturday 6th May the Coronation Service, on Sunday 7th May the Coronation Big Lunch & Coronation Concert and on Monday 8th May the Big Help Out:
Floral Tribute & Village History – Across the weekend the church will be decorated in a floral tribute to the King and
there will be a display of village life across the Coronations. The church will be open each day 10.00am – 5.00pm.
Decorate a Wheelbarrow – We are inviting everyone to decorate a wheelbarrow and display it for the weekend of the
coronation, the theme can be the coronation or what you think would look great. There will then be the opportunity for all of us to walk around the village and view the decorated wheelbarrows.
Commemorative Tree – We have planted a commemorative tree in the churchyard to both mark the Coronation of King Charles III and the long reign of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A plaque will be put in place in due course.
