Coronation Weekend Events

The country will celebrate the coronation of His Majesty the King and we will join in with these national celebrations.  our plans fit around the major events which will be televised.

Our events are:

Saturday 6th May –

“An Evening with King Charles”. From 7.30 pm in the Village Hall, an evening of food, drink, entertainment, music and dancing!  Tickets will be available in advance.  Time to get your glad rags on and enjoy a great eveing!

Sunday 7th May –

11.00 – Church Service at All Saints.  The service will focus on young people and volunteers both for church and community

13.00 – The Big Lunch at the Village Hall.  This is for everyone in the village!  Please bring a plate of buffet food (sweet or savoury) to share from the buffet table.  Tables outside (in the car free car park!) if the weather is favourable.  Bar open for drinks, teas, coffees and squash.  Crafts and games for the children

After lunch, unique commemorative mugs will be handed out to our young people and some will be available to purchase.

Monday 8th May –

10.00 – 13.00 – A celebratory pealing of the bells of All Saints Church with up to 5000 changes!

14.00 – 17.00 – Afternoon Tea in the church

The Big Help Out – An encouragement for all of us to help out a local group, a neighbour or a friend as part of this national initiative

Across the weekend, other events are:

Floral Tribute & Village History – The church will be decorated in a floral tribute to the King and there will be a display of village life across the Coronations.

The church will be open each day from 10.00 – 17.00

Decorate a Wheelbarrow – Everyone is invited to decorate a wheelbarrow and display it for the weekend.  Choose a Royal theme or anything else you think would look great!  We wil all then have the opportunity to walk around the village to enjoy the displays

Commemorative Tree – We plan to plant a tree in the churchyard to commemorate the late Queen and the new King.
