GWL – 2016 End of Term Report
Average age: 68 (at least) Attendance: Good No. in Class: 25 Behaviour: Exemplary
GWL has grown in confidence in his second year. The all-male environment seems to suit his relaxed demeanour, though the house mistress often has trouble calling the class to order.
He appreciates cook’s excellent, varied cuisine and his appetite is invariably robust. His manners are impeccable, though there are occasions when the vin du jour seems to take effect.
In open discussion, there appear to be no limits; politics, sport, history and current affairs feature prominently and there is usually the class comedy act and even the occasional quiz organised by matron. The class Brexit vote echoed the national outcome exactly.
GWL has shown great interest in all manner of sports this year, in particular both football and rugby, golf, bowls and the Olympics. They can on occasion handicap his attendance. His bridge leaves room for improvement.
Despite protestations to the contrary, fees for the coming year remain @ £10. Prospective attendees, resident in the village past and present, are welcome and should contact the bursar on 01934 832126.
